We’re diving into something fun this month: the five most common CliftonStrengths Themes worldwide. Whether you’re a longtime strengths fan or just getting started, understanding what makes people tick (and how to support them) is a game changer. Plus, I’ve got some exciting BrightPath updates and a quick reflection on accountability—because let’s be honest, it’s a lot easier to follow through when someone else is watching… Any of my fellow entrepreneur friends who can relate?
What are our topics for today?

CliftonStrengths
Between 1999 and now, an incredible 34,688,550 people have taken the CliftonStrengths assessment. With so many individuals embracing a strengths-based approach, patterns have emerged—revealing the most common Themes worldwide.
These top Themes (based on the people’s top 5 or Signature Themes) offer a fascinating glimpse into the talents that shape how people work, lead, and collaborate across industries and cultures. Let’s explore what they are and what they tell us about the people around us. |

Now that we know the top CliftonStrengths Themes, let’s apply the Pareto Principle. If these five dominate, how can we use them to maximize impact? By understanding their patterns, we can enhance collaboration, leadership, and growth. Let’s take a look at what people may need when they have those in their top 5:
- Achiever – The next goal to pursue.
- Learner – New information and ongoing learning opportunities.
- Responsibility – Working with others who take their responsibilities seriously.
- Relator – Opportunities to form meaningful and close relationships with others.
- Strategic – Opportunities to see the big picture and play out alternative scenarios.
The better you know yourself and the people around you, the better you can cater to their needs. This is by far not a complete list, but it is a starting point for a conversation.
BrightPath Updates
StrengthsIQ.ai
We are making good progress with StrengthsIQ.ai and so far we are still on track to having our first testable version in April.

(Also making progress on the logo…)
The key to success will be the user experience and we know we will have to do several iterations. However, we are convinced that this will be a great opportunity to make AI-driven online coaching available to a broader audience.
Other Updates
I have also worked on updating my homepage with a newsletter archive. Now you have easy access to all issues of the Bright Side whenever you want.
The 7th Health Equity Summit is in Columbia is approaching fast. On 4/17 The Alliance for a Healthier South Carolina is bringing together hundreds of professionals, practitioners, researchers, and advocates committed to advancing health equity in South Carolina.
I have submitted my presentation last week and I am super excited (and a little bit nervous, I have to admit) to talk about how tools like CliftonStrengths and the Q12 Employee Engagement framework can amplify team strengths, improve engagement, and sustain momentum in organizational initiatives.
While I am on this subject, I want to give a big shoutout to my friends at SHOWOFF Creative. They hosted me, along with a small group, to do a dry run of my presentation. They have great equipment, did a full recording of the presentation and I got great feedback from very different perspectives.
If you ever need someone for strategic consulting, practical marketing or creative media, consider giving them a call. Not only do they know what they are doing, they are also great people!
Self-Reflection
Today, let’s take a look at personal accountability. Often, there is a big difference between being accountable to yourself versus being accountable to someone else. In my experience it’s much harder to let someone else down compared to letting yourself down. By the way, this is one of the reasons why accountability partners work so well..
So, let’s take a step back and look at yourself:
- What is one thing that you keep pushing out or avoiding?
- What is the REAL reason you are putting this off?
- What is one small step you can take to make progress? (Make the step so small that you cannot fail)
Taking a few moments for self-reflection helps make us aware of our impact and provides an opportunity to appreciate our growth.
Give it a shot, try it out.
Even consider writing down your responses. Going back through those notes can really lift you up when you have a bad day or help when you are facing self-doubts.
I would love to hear your feedback on this news-note or if you have specific topics you would like to see in here.
…and if it’s been a while since we last connected, let’s grab a (virtual) coffee and catch up.

And always remember, even the smallest steps get us closer to our goal – but you have to take the first step!
Stay Bright!
